Leon Cotter is a versatile and adaptable musician, equally at home playing at a swing dance, in a jazz club, or at a blues bar. He’s a touring member of Bay Area retro soul band The California Honeydrops, and spends about half the year on the road. With the Honeydrops, Leon has played Red Rocks, Byron Bay Bluesfest, New Orleans Jazzfest, and has shared the stage with luminaries like Bonnie Raitt, Del McCoury and Charlie Hunter.

When he’s not out with the Honeydrops, Leon has maintained an active presence in the Portland area music scene. He performs regularly with local fingerpicking legend Mary Flower, world/funk/jazz band Reb & the Good News, and master jazz drummer and educator Alan Jones, among others. He also leads his own band (album coming soon), playing original songs heavily inspired by roots music from the African diaspora, from South Africa to Nigeria to New Orleans.
